Family Ministry
What can a family expect to find at The Table?
Israel ! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! 5"And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6"And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart; 7and you shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Each week families can expect to be with their kids as we learn together what it means to be the family of God. As opposed to simply attending church or going to church we want everyone, including families and their children, to discover together what it means to be the church. Thus, we encourage families to keep their sons and daughters with them during the morning service.
At The Table we believe children are a gift from God. Outside of the salvation he offers by faith in Christ, we acknowledge that children are the greatest gift he gives. There is nothing quite like it, the privilege of being given a child: to love, to nurture, to point them towards Christ. And as with all great privileges, children are a great responsibility. Scripture clearly lays out this responsibility for us in Deuteronomy 6:4-7 (NASB):
4"Hear, O
The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 6:4 (NASB):
4And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger; but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
This is a responsibility and a command that is truly beyond any one of us, be it as individuals, couples, and even families. That’s why we as The Table want to do our part to raise all children together.
Thus, as a community of faith we want to do more than help fathers and mothers understand their God-given roles; we want to help them succeed in achieving them. We do this by humbling coming alongside these parents as they discover what it means to live out the teachings of Christ through our core values: authentic community, worship + beauty, meaning + truth and a missional journey. And we do this all together as the family of God.
One of the key ways in which we achieve this goal is through our Family Ministry Time, which is held each week following the service (around 11:15 a.m. – Noon). During this time everyone from the church, regardless of age or status, is invited to attend this informal discussion where we as the family of God discuss life and God over crayons and the occasional snack. (Think La Brasserie Montmarte meets family home fellowship times).
We hope you come and check out the Family Ministry Time whenever you visit The Table. We would love to have you in our time of community.
