We finish our series, REFOCUS, by asking the question "What is worship?" Far too often, we have reduced worship to mean nothing more than singing songs - often of a certain genre or accompaniment - or embraced a false dichotomy between the sacred and the secular that compartimentalizes worship to something done once a week in a 'worship service.'

In Romans 12, the apostle lays out a far different understanding of biblical worship.

  1. WORSHIP IS CAUSED & PRESCRIBED

  2. WORSHIP IS COMPREHENSIVE & PRACTICAL

  3. WORSHIP IS ABOUT CHANGE & PURPOSE

  4. WORSHIP IS BOTH COMMUNAL & PERSONAL

  5. WORSHIP IS ABOUT OUR CHARACTER & PASSIONS

  6. WORSHIP IS SEEN IN OUR CONDUCT & PERSEVERENCE

Worship is living YOUR God-given life in a God-centered, God-glorifying, God-relying way.
