Loving Your Enemies

As Paul reaches Jerusalem, he encounters the prophesiezed persecution from the Jews he was expecting. His reaction to this persecution and the Jews perpetrating it, reveals a heart that has been transformed by the grace of God that loves its enemies.
His heart for those persecuting him is beatifully expressed in his letter to the Romans, chapter nine, verses one to 3:

"I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit, that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were accursed, separated from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh..."
