What does The Table Believe?
The most important things that we believe at The Table are found in our understanding of the gospel (Our Message) and our understanding of the church (Our Values). In addition, there are some core beliefs about the person, nature, and work of God, the scriptures, and humanity that we hold fast to. To see a brief doctrinal statement go here. Outside of these core truths, we strive to live out the following maxim from the 17th century:
IN ESSENTIALS UNITY, IN NON-ESSENTIALS LIBERTY, IN ALL THINGS CHARITY.
Our desire at The Table is to boldly and unapologetically proclaim the truths of God revealed in Jesus and the Bible as we try to help people think biblically, critically, and ultimately be taught by the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit. Above all, our goal is to be a community of men and women that live like Jesus did, full of grace and full of truth.
In the future, we will be posting position papers on various theological issues on this page.
